Simplicity is the state or the quality of being simple. Simple is described as something free of relative complexity or something that is easy to convey and understand. A simple lifestyle is denoted free of distractions and possessions.

A simple lifestyle also helps in appreciating things that are often overlooked or are not appreciated. It happens as a simple lifestyle helps in cutting off many distractions which kept an individual busy and once these distractions are cut off, the person is able to pay attention to the small things which were once overlooked. Now, that the person is cut off from distractions and is able to appreciate little things, the person evidently feels contented. And when a person is feeling contended, he\she is able to perform better in many aspects. Many of us are fueled by the tendency to be contended and we often perceive a hog heaven lifestyle as contentment. There is no denial that an affluence lifestyle has a lot of advantages but in between we don’t appreciate the small things and since we are not grateful for the little things we get, we are unable to achieve more. Being grateful is a very simple yet a very effective habit that can do wonders. It doesn’t matter what your age is or where you are, being grateful and appreciating little things can make a vast difference in your life and in your point of view of things.

A simple lifestyle also follows the practice of renunciation. Saying no to things which are sources of distractions is a practice to be followed. Maintaining distances from such things helps the person but this does not mean you should not respect the other person if the same thing helps them doesn’t distract them. Respecting each other’s beliefs and ideals is also a practice to be followed. Even if you don’t agree with the other person, you should respect their beliefs and ideals. Therefore, simple practices of gratitude, renunciation and respecting can help change a person.
