Howl’s Moving Castle is yet another Studio Ghibli film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki released in 2004. It is loosely based on a novel that goes by the same name by the British author Diana Wynne Jones. 

The movie embarks on the journey of a teenager named Sophie who meets Howl, a wizard, in the empty allies of her neighborhood. After having her saved from what could have been an unpleasant situation, Howl bids her goodbye and leaves it to fate to meet her again. Meanwhile, Sophie returns to her hat shop in the evening and finds herself meeting the Witch of The Waste, who casts a spell on her, which Sophie can tell no one about. 

Henceforth, Sophie leaves her place and hopes to find a wizard or witch to break her free from the spell. Fortunately, she finds Howl’s Moving Castle and moves in. There she finds other residents and helps Howl break free from his spell and the war.

The movie was yet another hit from Studio Ghibli and very well received from audiences worldwide. It definitely deserves a spot on your Watchlist It will make an even more fantastic choice if you are looking for a Studio Ghibli movie to begin with. Recommended age for the audience will be 13 and above.
