Every Thanksgiving

My mom gets to work

With loads and loads of potatoes

You would think that she overworks

But this dish is her specialty

She makes it for our family, relatives, and me

Mashed potatoes are traditional

We all love them, you see

She mashes the potatoes until they're just right

She adds whipped cream so it tastes fresh and ripe

She pinches in some salt for flavor

And a bit of cheese in favor

In favor for me

Since I love cheese

Set it with a bowl of pasta on the side

Great food is what she loves to provide

I can't imagine

A perfect Thanksgiving
