Thanksgiving Day

I sit at the window, waiting for our guests

And notice the fall leaves

Red, orange, brown, and yellow

These are all beautiful colors, you see

Ding, Dong! Goes the doorbell

I excitedly opened the door

Hello! Hello! I say to everyone

As they put their shoes on the floor

I and my cousin put on our aprons

To help my mom cook

When we are done, all the food looks so delicious

And I can’t help but look

We set the table

All the cups and plates

I am so excited because

I know the food awaits

We joke and laugh

I especially like the pie

And I think about

How lucky am I
